Together with Daniel Speck\, he is primarily responsible for the development and operation of the Research Computing Infrastructure\, i.e. a cluster system based on SLURM\, in this EU project. In the field of high-performance computing\, he has acquired extensive knowledge since 2002 in the course of his many years of scientific work with a focus on the development of distributed simulation systems and especially at the Regional Computing Center of the University of Hamburg (2017-2019) and at the German Climate Computing Center (2020-2022). \n \nDr. Hinnerk Stüben is an HPC user consultant – from 1994-2012 at the Konrad-Zuse-Zentrum für Informationstechnik Berlin (ZIB)\, since 2012 at the Regional Computing Center of the University of Hamburg (RRZ). He has been giving courses on parallel programming and runtime optimization of HPC software for many years. His work at the University of Hamburg includes supporting HPC beginners. \n \nTogether with Kai Himstedt and Nathanael Hübbe\, he created the introduction “Getting Started with HPC Clusters” as part of the Performance Conscious HPC (PeCoH) project. This introduction is available online and is suitable as preparation for the event: https://www.hhcc.uni-hamburg.de/learning-hpc/getting-started-with-hpc-clusters-b.html \n \nDisclaimer: This event is offered by HITeC e.V. as part of EDIH Hamburg. \nEDIH Hamburg is Part of the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) program.
