Over the next three years, EDIH 2.0 will continue to support innovative processes in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and public sector organizations (PSOs). The project is funded by the European Union (EU) and the Investitions- und Förderbank Hamburg (IFB) to drive the digital transformation in the Hamburg metropolitan region and promote forward-looking solutions. Together with our partners, we are tackling the complex challenges of our time and building strong networks to develop sustainable and future-proof solutions.

The European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) has set itself the task of driving forward the dual transformation in the Hamburg region: In particular, it supports local SMEs and PSOs in driving forward the digital transformation and taking greater account of environmental concerns.

What has EDIH Hamburg achieved so far?

As part of our first funding phase, EDIH 1.0 supported local companies in their digitalization by providing core competencies in key technology areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), digitalization, cybersecurity and high-performance computing (HPC). In addition, the target groups received support in the development of digital use cases, access to test infrastructure and specialized training to evaluate the feasibility of their projects.

We would like to thank our partners Hamburger Informatik Technologiecenter (HITeC), Digital Hub Logistics & Commerce GmbH (DigiHub), Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW), Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) and the Hamburg Chamber of Crafts (HWK) as well as the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Hamburg for their successful cooperation.

Facts and figures

Over the past three years, the project’s formats have reached around 9,000 participants. At the ARIC Remote Brown Bag Sessions for example, were attended by over 4,300 people. Particularly noteworthy is the Hackathon for Women, which received the Women in Digital Champion award from the EU-funded Connecting Women in Digital initiative.
Numerous workshops, individual training courses for companies and consulting and testing units have helped the partners in the EDIH consortium to establish themselves as an important point of contact for questions relating to new technologies.

During the first phase of EDIH Hamburg, over one hundred national and European partnerships were established. The internationalization and networking of EDIH remains a priority in the second phase. The EDIH aims to significantly expand its reach and its services.

What does EDIH 2.0 offer Hamburg-based companies and the deep tech ecosystem?

The priorities for the second funding phase are clear: work in areas such as deep tech, quantum computing, HPC and responsible AI will be intensified in order to meet the challenges of the digital transformation.

The initiative will focus intensively on the topics of digital sovereignty, resilience, cyber security, eHealth, circular economy and green tech. Future offerings will include connecting SMEs and PSOs with test and experimental facilities, which will enable AI applications to be tested in real-life scenarios.

Even more support for innovative processes at SMEs and public organizations in Hamburg and the metropolitan region We are pleased to announce that the EDIH Hamburg project has been extended […]

[24,71,67

post-10710","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","category-success-updates","category-updates
["GET
