Finding a champion is rarely the problem with AI projects, because there’s almost always someone on the team who uses the technology in their personal life and wants to use it at work. The rollout becomes difficult afterward, when the tool reaches experienced professionals whose reputation is built on doing the work themselves, and whose real objection is that this work could be automated at all. Drawing on two years of experience implementing an AI platform among medical writers in the pharmaceutical industry, this presentation highlights what these colleagues have achieved, what backfired, and what lessons can be applied to organizations where expertise and judgment are the actual product.
