Support through knowledge transfer: “Public financing compact” workshop

On 19 June 2025, EDIH Hamburg organized the workshop Public Funding Compact: Funding Programs and Resources for Companies, Startups and Research Institutions. The fully booked event took place at the Digital Hub Logistics in Hamburg’s Speicherstadt warehouse district and was organized together with Enterprise Europe Network HH-SH / IFB Hamburg.

The participants, who work in various fields including AI technology, public administration, tax law, universities and social institutions, learned about funding opportunities and received specific tips on how to prepare successful applications. The speakers Rumyana Al-Ubaydi (ARIC/EDIH) and Ruth Schaldach (EEN HH_SH / IFB HH) explained the requirements and procedures of public funding programs so that all participants can be optimally prepared for the future competition for funding.

The lively exchange between the participants, the discussion rounds and the opportunity to make new contacts in order to support each other were particularly noteworthy.

Interest in the workshop was high and the number of participants was limited. We are already planning the next edition of the workshop in fall 2025. Participants who had to wait for a place on the waiting list this time are cordially invited to take part in the next edition of the workshop. In the meantime, we will also accept urgent questions on the topic of public funding by e-mail to al-ubaydi@aric-hamburg.de.

With this workshop, we wanted to support established companies, start-ups and research institutions in accessing public funding. By providing specific information on important funding programs of the European Union, the federal government and regional funding sources, the workshop participants should become more familiar with these funding opportunities. We also provided important tips, for example in the form of a checklist, for optimal preparation for a successful application.

We would like to thank the participants for their commitment.
