As the region is characterized by the diversity of local industries, this approach is key to guaranteeing that digital transformation will be widespread rather than isolated in selected industries. Given that a diverse mix of economic sectors contributes to making a region more competitive as well as resilient to industry-specific economic shocks, we expect a positive effect on the Hamburg metropolitan region’s competitiveness and resilience.

Skills & Training

The EDIH partners offer a wide variety of formats to support SMEs, mid caps & public administration in their digitalization and to break down barriers: From small lecture formats on technologies like AR, VR, AI or Cybersecurity to large events in the field of quantum technology, we cover a broad portfolio of relevant topics.

In addition to classic information events, our partners also offer targeted workshop formats, which can be conducted in groups of different sizes: From the development of digitization strategies in the skilled trades or for medium-sized companies, topics such as sustainability or resilience in supply chains, Work 4.0, IoT, cybersecurity or artificial intelligence can be taken up. Design thinking workshops or “Lego Serious Play” are also part of the offer.

Test Before Invest

Often, companies or administration lack a vision of what is theoretically possible and practically implementable. Here, our partners offer access to demonstrators in which digital technologies are shown using practical case studies: Examples ranging from software to hardware, to the practical application of artificial intelligence or the use of cyber-physical systems or even modern data analysis are possible. Topics such as carbon accounting or the use of a distributed ledger are also covered.

A wide external partner network also provides access to Tech Labs, both through the European EDIH network and local partners.

Within a short consultation, our partners can identify the needs of companies and work with them to develop a strategy for financing or promoting projects: Is financing via investors more suitable for the plans or is e.g. funding via third-party funds more sensible – and what are the respective advantages & disadvantages?

Innovation Ecosystem

We organize a series of key technology events, which include technologies from AI to Quantum or forums for innovation exchange. In addition, so-called Communities of Practice or Joint Innovation Circles are part of the EDIH offering, in which more in-depth expertise on individual topics is built up and shared with the public.

We facilitate the coming together of different players, from established corporations to newly founded startups. For this purpose, we also provide a physical location where events can be held or where exchange in general is to be promoted & thus innovations are to be made possible.

An essential part of the EDIH program is the exchange across local borders to strengthen pan-European competitiveness & build a robust distributed infrastructure. In addition to regular exchanges by the consortium itself, delegation trips will also take place for this purpose.

Ein wesentlicher Bestandteil des EDIH-Programms ist der Austausch über lokale Grenzen hinweg, um die gesamt-europäische Wettbewerbsfähigkeit zu stärken & eine robuste, verteilte Infrastruktur aufzubauen. Neben einem regelmäßigen Austausch durch das Konsortium selbst werden hierfür auch Delegationsreisen stattfinden. 

Skills & Training

Die EDIH-Partner bieten verschiedenste Formate an, um KMUs, Mid Caps & der öffentlichen Verwaltung bei ihrer Digitalisierung zu unterstützen und Barrieren abzubauen: Von kleinen Vortragsformaten über Technologien wie AR, VR, KI oder Cybersecurity bis hin zu Großevents im Bereich Quantentechnologie decken wir ein breites Portfolio relevanter Themen ab. 

Zusätzlich zu klassischen Informationsveranstaltungen bieten unsere Partner auch zielgerichtete Workshopformate an, welche in Gruppen unterschiedlicher Größen durchgeführt werden können: Von der Erbarbeitung von Digitalisierungsstrategien im Handwerk oder bei mittelständischen Unternehmen können Themen wie Nachhaltigkeit oder Resilienz in Lieferketten, Arbeit 4.0, IoT, Cybersecurity oder Künstlicher Intelligenz in Anspruch genommen werden. Auch Design Thinking Workshops oder „Lego Serioius Play“ sind Teil des Angebotes.
