Germany is at a crossroads. Our economy is in recession, while at the same time our research system is delivering top performance. Innovations, especially in future technologies such as artificial intelligence, could secure our prosperity, but most inventions do not develop into full innovations. What does it take for inventions to become innovations and what do individual players, whether in science, business or politics, need to do to get Germany back on track for growth?
