ARIC Brown Bag Session: Outclassing Frontier LLMs at Extracting Information

Accurately extracting information from documents has been a decades-old challenge at the core of many workflows, from automated back-office processing to enterprise RAG. While LLMs promise to solve this, they still hallucinate, struggle with long or complex documents, and fail on real-world structure. This talk introduces specialized LLMs for information extraction – NuExtract and NuMarkdown – which reduce hallucinations and outperform frontier models while being orders of magnitude smaller.
